Ministry Coaching International (formerly Building His Champions) offers one on one coaching for pastors. They provide a brief definition of coaching and answers the question, "Who needs coaching?"
Gary Collins, author of Christian Coaching : Helping Other Turn Potential Into Reality (NavPress, 2001), provides definition and background on Christian coaching on his website. The first four chapters of his book are available as a free download.
Christopher McCluskey, a Christian certified Life Coach, wrote a feature article in Christian Counseling Today magazine, (Vol, 8, No. 1, 2000, pp 20 – 22) titles "Caring From a Distance: Technology, Coaching and Life Management." Secular Coaching
International Coaching Federation (IFC), which has both secular and Christian coaches as members, defines professional coaching as “an ongoing partnership that helps clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives.” Through coaching, clients deepen learning, improve performance, and enhance their quality of life.
